Well....O.o When my art coach (soon to be my teacher since I'm not taking art this year but I will next year) Said that we were to be painting a collage, that would take the form of a human heart. I thought, "Oh god, I can't really paint all that good." I gritted my teeth and agreed to the circumstances that came about me. I dreaded having to paint the picture since I haven't delt with this sort of medium in....well....several years. But looking at it after it was done I couldn't help but think, "OH my gosh, this looks soo COOL!!!" And I thought I couldn't paint. XD LOL It's still a little rough around the edges, but all in all it looks pretty darn good for not painting at all for several years. XD Comment and rate plz!!!

Can you catch the reason why the hearts are disfigured??

I'll tell ya if you can't figure it out.
Love is like an illusion and the hearts are everyday symbols of that illusion and the dragon represents the harsh coldness of reality breaking through the illusion. It's a deep concept that I came up with. XD


Open canvas, no reference pic, paintbrushes and some cheap acrylic paint.

well the hearts look a bit disfigured but the dragon is freaking sweet

I painted the hearts disfigured because it's a message. Can you catch it??

thats so deep its become a cliché, but why are the hearts green then?, green i think of malice and envy making the hearts symbolice love is cruel and unfair.

I love that Dragon so its a great love themed picture =D

This is part of a collage that my NAHS (National Art Honors Society) group is doing where the squares become the shape of a human heart. The inside of the heart is blue and red the outside/background is supposed to be green. So my pic had to be completely green. But as you can see I threw in some silver because I like to push the rules.LOL XD jk.

Very nicely done on the dragon! The shading is excellent and the shadows from the whiskers really anchor the piece.

Isn't that how all art works? You let the painting dictate the message, not the painter? At least that's how it works for me. :D
